0211. our complex minds exacts the desire for our bonding with another intelligent lifeform (be it physical or otherwise) so much that NASA is still spending billions on space projects trying to reach out to ETs since the 1940s.
on a level closer to us, this is much liken to us making friends with people displaying the ability to communicate on the same wavelength with us, hence, deemed "intelligent".
but in every case there are exceptions. exceptional cases of human beings processing non humanlike activities. like i just can never understand how an intelligent lifeform can subject himself to so much psychological decrepification (read: loneliness) to waltz into a cinema, sit there for 90 minutes or so and watch a movie all by himself.
because that draws the fine line between an activity needing the social nature of human beings as opposed to not having it at all which causes one to feel so solitary and... inhuman.
i may live alone. eat alone. shop alone. work alone. even die alone.
but i will never be caught watching a movie alone. never!

2053. the empty office isnt entirely silent, per se.
it lacked human life. me being around dont really count cos im 3/4 dead anyway.
just a subtle feeling of loneliness, because even the most famous late stayers in the company has left me here to fend for myself against the dark forces of solitude.
maybe there might be a dirty magazine somewhere around here... i might check k's drawer. heh.
yea, right! dont even think about it.
that aside, i caught sweeney todd either yesterday or the day before, i dont remember. i only recall that it's a pity the movie had an excellent cast, magnificent direction and cinemetography and being a musical it even boasts a couple of pleasant songs.
but it turned out to be a musical that struggled to be a thriller and a drama flick all at the same time. on top of this, it was a half past six musical with zero dance element. i expected to see a tiny bit of dance involved even if the film's feel is dark and gloomy.
in the end, there were buckets of blood instead. oh well, as they say, if you cant satisfy one need, satisfy the next!
2.5 pot pies upon 5 for this one by tim burton (whom i think has serious issues).

0145. it's miraculously different how loneliness devours different peoples' souls.
some smoke their cigarettes. some binge their alcohol. some indulge in mindless sex, paid or otherwise. some write poetry, some sing karaoke, some dance their asses off at a popular club over the weekend. some curse and swear, some beat their wives, some their children. some cut themselves with razor blades, some pierce their navels and lips, some tattoo their lower backs. some shop (though i highly doubt in the power of the so called retail therapy), some work overtime, some take up two jobs. some shoot photos, some make films, some revise their lecture notes, some contemplate issues like premarital pregnancy, global warming, teenage violence, illegal drug abuse, US war policies or just simply suicide. some attend church, some visit the arcade and fire virtual pistols, some eat their hearts out at a restaurant, some watch a movie. or two. or three. some miss their ex girl/boyfriends, some watch their kids sleep, some pray for their loved ones abroad, some just snooze the night away and worry about their problems the next day. some dream about going to school, some find excuses to run away from it, some shoplift, some pickpocket, some ride their skateboards and unicycles and rollerblades, some spray graffiti all over. some draw, some paint, some talented, some not. some listen to music, some play music. some watch the rain from their kitchen windows, some bask and dazzle in the sun. some even just sit there quietly in their rooms and homes, then let loneliness eat them whole, leaving not a single drop of blood.
and it makes me wonder.
i understand. even in a bar with 100 other people, a person can still feel the segregation from everyone else. but if 2 lonely persons found each other, they wont be lonely anymore, would they?
and yes, some come up with blog posts like this so that they stop reminding themselves about the people they've lost in their lives or the events they have missed or the things they havent quite gotten down to own.
some. im not saying who.
