0223. someone posted a question to me today concerning the massive closeness of game graphics to reality as computers become more powerful to handle better rendering and animation.

"if graphic realism in driving games, for example, simulates actual driving, does this realism in violent games, such as BioShock, simulate murder?"

murder is admittedly a heinous crime, punishable by corporal means if found guilty on this island of ours. but how we have come so far as to blur the line between virtual and reality begins to bother me.

with all these viscous undead blood, dismembered body parts and brain goo splattering all over my screen... should i consider myself a zombie serial killer in the eyes of the law?

i dont think it's fair to blur this thin line. it's the only thing that a gamer has to bind him unto reality yet allow him the methods of escapism away from being real. a gosu who seeks entertainment and perfection in his gaming skills will always float on the line, and will never offset the balance by moving even an inch off. realistic visuals only add to the excitement when chasing this high.
