0303. i saw her while i was out with miss octopus the other day in town. she didnt see me, so i called out to her, waved and put on a grin. i havent seen her in a while, and i thought she still looked as fab as always.

but when she turned in response to me, for a split second, i caught the micro-expression she wore. just the slightest, subtle hint of it; something between disappointment and sadness. for the rest of that one second, my brain fired up a query that went:

"was she sad to see me? or was she sad to see me... with another girl? was she sad at all?"

from where she stood, we exchange how-are-you's and what-are-you-doing-here's. small talk, nothing interesting. then we carried on with our lives.

that happened a couple of days ago. but just now, while i was chatting with her over msn, she mentioned she was happy to see me, and happy that i was attached. she didnt noticed ms octopus though, cos the girl was busy paying for her item over the counter.

so... why the sad micro-expression?

it wasnt till later in the online conversation that she revealed that she broke up with her boyfriend bout 3 months back. yup, that explained the swift facial expression.

though i still cant figure out why she flashed such a quick, subtle expression when she saw me. i really really wonder.
