0356. a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of this so called metropolitan island. but truthfully, economical advancement can only been seen when one travels to another country in a worse state than his own.
potholes covered the main roads like polka dots. non existence of road lamps. whole families of 5 or 6, complete with children and infant, precariously packed onto worn out scooters. dilapidated squatters and villages sprawling all across the hill sides. shopping centres that are still living in the 80s. and natives who tell you "no english" when you try to ask them where the toilet is.
im not despising them. it's a backward country, yes, but i admire them for being cloistered from the complications of the world and being happy where they were. there is this unexplicable feeling of bliss oozing out from these natives; a hint of contentment that i cannot even subtly find amongst my fellow countrymen.
it's the feeling of belonging. even though it was run down, they called it home. but us? i wont even hesitate half a second more if i were presented with the chance to migrate.
