0303. i look at my inbox and weep. everyday without fail, i will receive 50 odd mails from facebook to tell me that so and so has requested to add me as a friend or so and so has sent me a message.
no, dont get me wrong, im FAR from being ladden with fame. it's the fervour of the online gaming community that pushes the crowd to the far edges of mass, unsuspecting enrollment into each other's friends list.
gone were the days where one's online profile at a social networking site remained only for the eyes of people whom you already knew or curious surfers who stumbled upon the page in question. these days, the lines of "online friendship" are so blurred out by folks who add other users inneccesantly to gain advantages over the various functions of the site. these lines of self preservation, no matter how thin the layers of privacy, are as good as erased!
these various functions mostly include the myriad of games available for users to kill time. i couldnt imagine 5 to 10 years ago, in the era of earth, utopia and archmage, there would be a single site that will completely dominate them all in the recent year.
it's easy to see why almost the entire internet performed an exodus from the obsolete friendster to still improving facebook.
cringe, children of tomorrow. internet tyranny will be at your doorsteps!
