1143. here i was, being a ignorant fool, happily assuming that the infamous water theme park at downtown east had already long been forgotten by locals and tourists alike.

boy, was i wrong! the place was lively, filled with laughter of children of all ages - from actual kids to those young at heart. most of the patrons came with their family, but i also saw teens and youths visiting with a bunch of their friends.

the attractions and rides there were the run of the mill, save for a thrilling one which they called "the aggressive motion ride". it's like a 4 storey drop on a float meant for two and it simulated how it feels like to row a little filmsy raft off a raging waterfall. the only setback that might deter one from trying this ride might be the fact that guests must carry the 2 seater float up a 4 storey tower themselves. overall, a must try at wild wild wet, mostly because the other things arent as exhilerating as this one.

the shower rooms and toilets were clean, prolly due to the high entrance fee charged by the establishment... a whooping 17.70 for an adult ticket. but the staff were friendly and interactive while queuing for most of the rides, a definite plus if you want to experience a weekend worthy of its price there.

as a parting shot, it'll only be fair as a fellow merry maker to tell this: for a certain unspeakable reason, the water there on most of the rides is salty. no points for guessing why!

travis: disney is a brand, wild wild wet is like some subpar backwater resort facility.

k: behold! the great god of sex shall leave his mark!

you know, out in the middle of nowhere (like near camping grounds) there're these tiny family water resort things which consist of nothing more than pools of water and a few slides--i think those are really sad! :) for them, "backwater" really hits the nail on the head!
that said, i wonder how many visitors these places get, and how much the admission is...
