i will never trust another retailer who grabs random and obviously exorbitant numbers from the air, punches them into a casio calculator, shows me the display and tells me, "genuine product, can't find this price elsewhere one."

on top of that, when i immediately reflect to him that the price is way over the stratosphere (and silently in my mind to him that im no fucking tourist, asshole):

he does some mental sums and punches in another set of numbers, this time 10% lower than the first but still can be deemed as an extortion, and says, "i give you discount lah."

fuck you and your calculator. here's why:

1) im not deaf. you can tell me the price loud and clear. you dont need to shove some numerals on a piece of cheap ancient device into my sight.

2) i repeat - im not a fucking tourist, asshole.

3) you didnt consult ANYONE for that price. no price tags, no price lists. dont pull prices from that receeding hairline of yours and expect me to buy it.

4) you didnt consult ANYONE for that "discount" either (cos this guy wasnt the boss, tell you how i knew later).

5) dont even dream that i do not know the market price and try to rip me off.

6) and the most important thing of all: SERVICE ATTITUDE. if you speak to me with that condescending tone of yours for whatever reasons you have, which i dont give a flying fuck to, i'll just walk off.

which, in fact, i did.

he called after me when i took my camera back (i was trying to buy a stock rubber eyecup) and left, "tell me what's your budget lah, i talk to my boss!"

which proved that he did not know the price (and he wasnt the boss!). i wanted to turn back and signal to him a single digit number less than 2 in the form of flicking him the bird. but i decided not to waste anymore time. so i walked on.

good luck to anyone buying or have bought stuff from these assholes at sim lim square #01-63 (HI-V Trading). and good luck to them being able to sell anything at all.

ps: the shop name has an uncanny resemblance to a sexually transmitted disease. stupid fools.
