0036. there are 2 things in this world which i believe that sells like hotcakes: sex and bad news. let's forget about the obvious one and look deeper into the latter.

if you have the straits times of late, excluding Life!, try flipping through them and just gaze through the headlines. do a quick, dirty tabulation and be surprised! almost every headline is a bad news.

if you were watching the news on the television recently, you will be constantly bombarded by even more bad news from every possible angle; from finance to disasters to epidemics to corruption and etc.

why does bad news sell, bad news being dark, ugly and scary?

it's precisely that of its scary nature, it instills the fear we need in our lives. the fear that makes us contemplate our safety. the fear that makes us doubt our wellbeing. the fear that makes us act upon all these negativity, so that we proactive work towards a common goal...

peace. that peace in our hearts and mind and of our nation's economic and military peace.

but... who controls the media? who, in the end, is controlling our fears?

think about it. the recession is here, but it's all hyped up by the media.

who has the final say what goes out to the citizen's eyes and ears? it's time to wake up and witness the darkness that's shrouding you, my friends.
