0131. "let's go to korea in april," my mom jested, knowing that the family had not gone on an overseas trip as a whole since our sydney visit in 2001.

"seoul?" i asked. "but none of us speak korean. taiwan sounds like a better choice. right, may?"

i repeatedly smacked my sister on her knee with the back of my palm to distract her from her music. her earphones seemed permanently stuck into her ears. maybe she was born with it. maybe it's sony. haha.

"shhh!" she snapped.

my father, a man of very very few words, spoke. "let's go to holland. amsterdam. or majorca in spain."

i turned to my usually silent dad while still hitting my sister. "but you've been to those places before!"

"doesnt mean we cant go there again," he shrugged, then returned to his wordlessness.

"yea yea, taiwan, i agree," may finally willing to tear away from her earphones for two seconds and responded. "nice food and whatnot. europe's too far."

"taiwan's seems not bad too," my mother said. "we can ask around where's fun and stuff then go on a free and easy trip"

to which i asked, "wait... you meant april this year, right?"

"no," she answered with the straightest face ever. i havent seen it in ages from the time she told us that we're moving house. "next year."

bah. she wasnt joking. 2009! that means 8 years since the last together trip. really should have dug the time to tour hong kong with them the other time they went. actually, id rather go japan. but i'll save the land of the rising sun until i can go without my parents so i can embark on adult endeavours. if you know what i mean. haha.

oh well, a looooooong way till april 2009. it aint even april 2008 yet! haiz.
